Treatment at University Behavioral Center
Welcome to University Behavioral Center. Since 1989, we have been dedicated to providing comprehensive, high-quality mental health and substance use disorder treatment at our beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida. Our goal is to enable each individual who enters our care to improve their overall quality of life in a comfortable, secure environment.
University Behavioral Center is divided into two physically separate wings: the child and adolescent wing, and the adult wing. Each wing is subdivided into secured units. Secure 24-hour supervision helps promote patient safety and a therapeutic treatment environment.
University Behavioral Center proudly supports healthy living. Our facility includes a swimming pool, a wellness center and gymnasium, and an outdoor reflection atrium.
Our Programs
University Behavioral Center provides a full range of treatment programs for children, adolescents and adults. We accept individuals under voluntary and Baker Act status.
We provide inpatient treatment for children, adolescents and adults in need of stabilization from acute symptoms of mental health conditions. Additionally, we provide substance abuse treatment options for adults living with drug or alcohol addiction.
Our acute inpatient mental health programs are offered to children, adolescents and adults facing an acute psychiatric or mental disorder crisis. Our treatment design process is highly individualized. Treatment is tailored to each patient’s strengths, interests and goals, as well as their current symptoms and struggles. Treatment at our facility is designed to help patients stabilize their use of medications, understand their mental health diagnoses and learn skills to better cope with their symptoms. Conditions that we can help treat include anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, other mood disorders, PTSD, schizophrenia and others.
Drug addiction treatment for adults at University Behavioral Center includes both an inpatient detox program for removing toxins and an inpatient addiction rehab program designed to help patients develop the tools they need to live a healthy lifestyle and prevent relapse. Our substance use treatment services allow for active treatment of both substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders. Co-occurring disorders are mental health problems that present along with substance use disorder.
