Inpatient Detox Programs

Inpatient Detox Programs

Substance Use Disorder Treatment at University Behavioral Center

At University Behavioral Center, we provide treatment and detox services for substance use-related issues. Treatment is individualized to address the unique needs of each patient in our care. Our Adult Recovery Solutions Program is connected to the acute psychiatric center, allowing for active treatment of both substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders. Co-occurring disorders are mental health problems that present along with substance use disorder. We are here to help those with substance use disorder related issues and mental health issues get the treatment they need in a secure, medically supervised environment.

Our treatment programs are based on a “systems” approach that includes evidence-based and research-informed practices. Individuals will receive a wide range of services targeting their symptoms and addressing the core issues that are continual barriers to recovery. We develop individualized plans for continuing care and ongoing recovery outside of our inpatient program, and we also offer a Substance Use Disorder Rehabilitation program. Individuals experience treatment in a trauma-informed setting in order to provide a refuge from the pain and stress outside of our facility and gain the tools they need to live a successful and healthful life.

Treatment goals include:

  • Understanding the relationship between substance use and mental illness
  • Working with families and loved ones for recovery supports
  • Managing symptoms of withdrawal and acute mental illness
  • Enhancing motivation for recovery
  • Introducing the 12-Step program
  • Comprehension of addiction as a medical illness/disease through education and therapy
  • Developing early recovery principles and skills
  • Practicing relapse prevention
  • Addressing needs for trauma resolution and stabilization in early recovery
  • Developing individualized plans for continuing care and ongoing recovery

Inpatient Medication-Assisted Detox

Medication-Assisted Inpatient Treatment:
This is a hospital-based induction with the use of Buprenorphine to reduce withdrawal, reduce cravings and stop non-prescription opioid use. The benefit of starting Buprenorphine in the hospital setting is that it sets the tone for the structure and monitoring of prolonged therapy for opioid use disorder. Inpatient induction provides continual 24-hour monitoring for withdrawal and any potential side effects of medication or drug interaction. It ensures accurate dosing and provides a stable environment for induction with linkage to aftercare maintenance. Candidates for this program will undergo screening for clinical appropriateness.

If you think you or a loved one could be in need of detox and medication-assisted treatment please contact us to learn more about this program.

Extended Detox Services:
Extended detox offers individuals the ability to extend treatment length past the traditional length of stay. Extended detox is intended to help individuals with medical issues and those requiring additional inpatient services in order to maintain recovery.
